LOZNIČKO POLJE · LOZNICA · DRINA
A few days by the Drina, just enough to slow down
Etno Kuća Drina is in Lozničko Polje, only a few minutes from Loznica. Close enough to town for everything to be within easy reach, yet quiet enough that after the first morning you stop thinking about traffic, errands and the clock.
The day usually begins on the terrace. Coffee, a little shade and a view of the garden and river. Later, someone heads down to the water, someone lights the barbecue, someone stays to read or rest, while children have enough room to spend the whole day outside.
In the evening everyone gathers around the same table again. That is really the best part of this place. You do not need a special plan to have a good time here.
“The best part of the day is when everyone comes back to the terrace and nobody is thinking about leaving the table yet.”

HOUSE & ATMOSPHERE
Timber, brick, exposed beams and the wood stove give the house a warmth that furniture and decoration alone cannot create. Everything is kept simple and measured, so the space remains comfortable and homely.
The living room is where everyone gathers indoors. When the weather turns cooler, the wood stove quickly changes the atmosphere and gives the house a different character. The bedrooms are quieter and separate, while the kitchen has everything needed for a comfortable stay of several days.
When the weather is good, however, few people stay inside for long. The terrace is wide, covered and connected to the garden and barbecue area. Breakfast, lunch, cards and long evenings with friends all happen there. There is no need for the group to split between the house, kitchen and garden because everything is close enough to stay together.
“By the Drina, a house is not measured only by its rooms. What matters is how much room there is around the table and how long you can sit outside.”
ACCOMMODATION
The living room is for time together, while the bedrooms are separate and quieter. The kitchen is equipped for a normal stay, so you do not have to plan every meal outside the house.

THE DRINA & GARDEN
The Drina is not somewhere you need to drive to. Step out of the house, walk through the garden and you are already on the riverbank.
Anyone who enjoys fishing can head down to the water early in the morning while everything is still quiet. On warm days the river is there for swimming and cooling off, while for some people simply sitting on the bank without a phone for half an hour is enough.
The garden is large, green and open. There is enough space for children to play, for loungers to be set out, or for everyone to find their own patch of shade.
The brick oven and barbecue are right beside the terrace. Lunch is rarely rushed here. While the fire catches and the food cooks slowly, someone brings the salad, someone sets the table, someone pours the drinks and time passes much faster than expected.
“By the Drina, lunch does not end when the last plate is cleared. That is usually when the best part of the day begins.”

AMENITIES
We wanted the house to keep its ethno character, but there is no reason to give up the everyday conveniences that make a stay easier.
GALLERY
Photographs often show what is difficult to put into words: the terrace in the morning, the size of the garden, where everyone sits while lunch is prepared and how close the river really is. The gallery shows the house, rooms, living area, kitchen, terrace, barbecue area, garden and Drina riverbank as they actually look.
Instagram is where the ordinary moments that describe this place best usually end up: morning light across the terrace, the Drina after rain, lunch being prepared outside, a full garden, evening fishing or a quiet morning before everyone wakes up. Many guests arrive planning to explore the area and end up spending half their holiday by the house and the Drina. That is understandable. If you do feel like leaving the garden, however, there are plenty of places nearby worth seeing.
Loznica digital tourist mapThe birthplace of Vuk Karadžić is not a place to rush through. Old houses, woodland, paths and small streams make it pleasant for a walk and a few quiet hours in nature.
Set in greenery between the hills, the monastery has been part of the history of this region for centuries. It is peaceful and close enough to combine with a visit to Tršić.
If you enjoy a walk through a park, coffee beneath old trees or an easy afternoon, Banja Koviljača is a good choice. Its park, old villas and spa architecture give it a character quite different from Loznica and the villages along the Drina.
For anyone who quickly trades the car seat for a walk, Gučevo offers forest, shade and views across Podrinje. It is best visited without much of a plan: walk as long as you like and return for dinner by the river.
In Mali Zvornik, inside the rock above the Drina, lies an underground complex built for the royal family and the government of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Today it is open to visitors and is one of the more unusual historic sites in this part of Serbia.
The town centre is close enough when you need something, or for coffee, lunch or an evening walk. One advantage of Etno Kuća Drina is that the town is nearby, yet once you return to the garden it feels much farther away.
“The best day trips are the ones that bring you back early enough for another coffee by the Drina.”
GUEST REVIEWS
Every guest experiences this place differently. Some remember fishing at dawn, others the large terrace and long lunches, while families often mention the garden and the space children have outside. This section therefore uses only real guest reviews, without rewriting their words or inventing quotes.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to write a few words after their stay. For future guests, those impressions often mean more than anything we could write ourselves.
“The accommodation is very spacious and beautiful, a mix of contemporary and ethno style, very pleasant and quiet, with a large terrace and the river nearby...”Selo.rs · guest review
